WELDING
1. Welding methods:
In ZinkPower Szczecin Sp. z o.o. /Ltd./ we weld pipelines using our own technology by means of the following processes (in accordance with EN 24063):
- 141 TIG welding (tungsten inert gas) – welding process which involves a non-consumable electrode in the inert gas shielding (argon),
- 135 MAG welding (metal active gas) – semi-automatic welding process in which active gases are used for shielding solid wire,
- 136 semi-automatic flux-cored wire metal-arc welding,
- 141/136 combined welding process, first layer welded by means of process 141 (TIG welding), next layers - by means of process 136,
- 135/136 combined welding process, first layer welded by means of process 135 (MAG welding next layers - by means of process 136,
- 111 manual welding process, using covered electrodes – special use,
- 311 Oxy-acetylene welding – special use,
- automatic welding of straight parts of a pipeline by means of a special line for pipelines prefabrication.
2. Types of welded materials.
We specialise in welding of different kinds of materials, most often they include:
- carbon steel,
- high - alloy steel, including DUPLEX type,
- copper alloys, including CUNIFE,
3. Authorisations and approvals.
1) We have WPS’s approved by Germanischer Lloyd and Det Norske Veritas based on EN 15614-1. In special cases we are able to develop and approve a welding technology based on other, required by a Customer, regulations.
2) We have an approval certificate as a plant which conducts welding works, awarded by Germanischer Lloyd and Russian Marine Register of Ships.
3) The quality of welding works conducted by us is confirmed by the introduced and certified by Germanischer Lloyd Integrated Quality Management System based in ISO 9001 and ISO 3834-2 standards (Full quality requirements).
3. Personnel
The welding personnel of our company has appropriate for welding works qualifications awarded by notified body.
1) EWE/IWE awarded by European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting,
2) VTII in accordance with EN 473, awarded by TUV Cert,
3) The welders have up-to-date welding qualifications in accordance with EN 287-1,
4. Non-destructive Testing (NDT)
Our welds are examined on the spot a non-destructive testing in the range required by a Client. The tests are conducted by a specialised company which has level III qualifications in NDT.
