WELDED GRATINGS (SP)
Welded gratings are manufactured in compliance with DIN 24537. The manufacture process of the welded gratings, whereby stringer and twisted transverse bars are welded where they cross, results in a very high strength, resistance to loads, twisting and vibration. Such advantageous properties make designers take advantage of the welded gratings, primarily in industries, power and heat sector, shipbuilding and all structures exposed to very harsh operating conditions. The welded gratings are made from flat bars 20x2mm up to 60x5mm in the form of master modules, from which gratings of any dimensions and shapes are cut out. The maximum dimensions of such master modules: width 1 000mm, length 6 100mm. The structural material is ST3S Al or equivalent. The gratings may be ordered in the stainless steel grades: 1.4301 (V2A) or 1.4571 (V4A).
Should the gratings be applied in adverse operating conditions, where there is a great deal of oil, grease, moisture and/or ice, it is advisable to have them manufactured in the anti-skid the so-called serrated design.
The gratings type offshore, with a higher number of openings thanks to one or two longitudinal bars, will prevent foreign bodies with diameters above 15mm penetrating through (the gratings comply the requirements of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate), whereas the AA-8x8 gratings offer the same feature in case of foreign bodies bigger than 10mm in diameter (the gratings are in compliance with the Spanish safety regulations Real Decreto 486/1997).
